Mamunul Haque unveils manifesto with focus on culture and heritage
The manifesto also promises security, infrastructure development, and cleanliness of all religious institutions to strengthen social harmony
Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul Haque has pledged to protect culture, heritage, and civil liberties in his election manifesto for contesting the Dhaka-13 seat.
He read out his manifesto today (4 February) at a programme organised by the Bangladesh Election Commission on the presentation of election manifestos and the pledge by all candidates of the Dhaka-13 parliamentary constituency to comply with the electoral code of conduct.
Clause 11 of the manifesto states that full freedom will be ensured for citizens to practise their respective religions and cultures. It also pledges that all national days, including Independence Day, Victory Day, and Language Movement Day, will be observed with due dignity and universal participation.
In the manifesto, he further promises to ensure security, infrastructure development, and cleanliness of all religious institutions to strengthen religious values and social harmony.
In addition, the 13-point manifesto includes commitments to prevent corruption, eliminate drugs and terrorism, resolve gas and water shortages, ease traffic congestion, and build a business-friendly Dhaka-13.
