He formally announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the party convener tonight (31 December), citing personal reasons
The series of resignations in the top leadership of the National Citizen Party (NCP) has grown longer after Khaled Saifullah, one of the NCP's joint conveners and husband of recently resigned senior joint member secretary, Tasnim Jara, leaves the party.
He formally announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the party convener tonight (31 December), citing personal reasons, according to NCP sources.
His decision was influenced by the recent resignation of his wife, Tasnim Jara, the source mentioned.
Earlier, on Saturday (27 December), Tasnim Jara announced her resignation from NCP in a Facebook post. She has submitted the nomination papers to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming national parliamentary election from Dhaka-9 constituency.
