Jubo League men carry out flash procession in Cox’s Bazar
Police identify participants, launch drive to arrest them

A group of 20 to 30 people carried out a flash procession under the banner of Awami Jubo League, the youth wing of Awami League, in Cox's Bazar town early this morning (6 May).
The procession began around 6am from Dolphin Mor and continued for several minutes till Sugandha Point.
It was led by Cox's Bazar Jubo League leader and former Chhatra League vice-president Monaf Sikder, who was seen chanting slogans and holding a banner that read, "Sheikh Hasina will return, Bangladesh will smile," although "Bangladesh" was misspelt on the banner.
Eyewitnesses reported that Monaf Sikder delivered a brief speech at Sugandha Point. The procession quickly dispersed afterwards.
Speaking to the media, Cox's Bazar District Police Media Officer and Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Md Jashim Uddin Chowdhury said, "An attempt was made to create chaos by cleverly organising a procession. Several people have been identified in connection to this. Cases have been filed, and police operations are ongoing to arrest them."
Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Ilias Khan stated, "The flash procession took place at a time when patrolling officers had returned to the station. Taking advantage of this gap, the group managed to carry out the procession. Legal action is being taken."
