Spirits high as students cast votes peacefully in Cucsu election
From the morning, there was a festive environment at the polling centres.

Students have expressed their excitement to be able to cast their votes in the Chittagong University Central Students' Union (Cucsu) election, held after a long gap of 35 years.
From early morning, students were seen queuing up at different faculty buildings across the university to cast their votes.
There was a reflection of joy and expectation on the faces of the voters. Many said that through this election, a new beginning of democratic practice is taking place at the university.
Ankita Das, a student of the Department of Environmental Science, said, "I was excited as soon as I heard about the Cucsu election. It feels really good. All of our friends came together to vote. I hope everything will end well, and those who are elected will work for us according to the manifesto they have announced."
Mahbub Morshed, a student of the Department of Chemistry, said, "It felt good to vote. I thought it would take time, but it was done quickly. I was able to complete the whole process easily."
From the morning, there was a festive environment at the polling centres. Students came to vote, took selfies, and spent time with their friends. Many said that after so many years, they felt proud and happy to get the opportunity to vote in their own university's election.
The administration and the students hope that if the day-long voting ends peacefully, the formation of a new Cucsu committee will further strengthen democratic practice at the university.
