Hasina responsible for Khaleda Zia's death: Rizvi
Rizvi said Khaleda entered prison in good health but emerged in a condition “like a dead body".
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the death of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was not a "natural incident", claiming it was the result of a "planned killing" carried out through negligence and persecution by the then Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government.
"It was planned. Therefore, I say this was a killing carried out under Sheikh Hasina," he said while speaking at a prayer programme for the salvation of Khaleda Zia's soul, organised by the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Front at Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital today (2 January).
Rizvi said Khaleda entered prison in good health in 2018 but emerged in a condition "like a dead body," alleging neglect and abuse in medical treatment, food, and overall care while she was incarcerated.
The BNP leader further claimed that those who were in charge of the government at the time were responsible, alleging that Khaleda was deliberately pushed toward death through a conspiracy.
