Fascism will be permanently abolished under Tarique Rahman's leadership: Mir Snigdho
The BNP was the worst sufferer of enforced disappearances, killings, and oppression carried out by killer Hasina, he says
In his first political speech after joining the BNP, Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho today (9 November) said that the "fascist system" will be permanently abolished under the leadership of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
Snigdho, twin brother of July martyr Mir Mugdho, received a warm welcome amid an emotional and jubilant atmosphere in the Bogura-2 (Shibganj) constituency, according to the BNP Media Cell.
He joined a student–people's rally at Mir Mugdho Square in Shibganj upazila, Bogura, organised by the upazila and municipal units of the BNP.
Upon his arrival, thousands of students and locals, accompanied by hundreds of motorcycles, escorted him in a procession from the historic Mahasthangarh to the rally ground.
The rally was chaired by Mir Shahe Alam, a BNP nomination aspirant from Bogura-2 (Shibganj).
Addressing the gathering, Mir Snigdho said, "I feel honoured to deliver my first political speech here in sacred Shibganj's Mahasthangarh. Killer Hasina murdered my brother along with 2,000 of our brothers and sisters, and injured 20,000 more."
"The BNP was the worst sufferer of enforced disappearances, killings, and oppression carried out by killer Hasina," he added.
"Since childhood, I have witnessed the uncompromising leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia. Inspired by her ideals, I have joined the BNP," he said.
Claiming that he had rejected a "blank cheque" offer from "killer Hasina" after his brother's death, he added, "We have never compromised with Hasina. She must face justice in this country."
Mir Snigdho further said that by uniting July fighters and young people across the nation to implement Tarique Rahman's 31-point agenda, "the fascist system will be eradicated forever."
In his address, Mir Shahe Alam said, "BNP is the strongest force of July, and Mir Snigdho's joining the BNP, as the brother of Shaheed Mir Mugdho, has once again proven that truth."
