'Fair election only way to earn people’s trust': Jamaat seeks clear roadmap from govt
In light of the ongoing political tensions in Bangladesh, the party also called for the stability of the interim government and a fair election under the leadership of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus

The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has called on the government to announce a clear election roadmap saying that a fair and neutral election is the only way to earn the people's trust.
"Fair and impartial elections are the only way to gain people's trust. The government has said that elections will be held between December and June. Now, a specific roadmap needs to be announced within this period—but not just elections, but also a roadmap for structural reforms in politics and state governance," Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Md Taher said at a goodwill gathering organised by the Patuakhali District Forum at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Dhaka today (23 May).
He further said all rumours and conspiracies will come to an end once the government takes the said steps
In light of the ongoing political tensions in Bangladesh, he also called for the stability of the interim government and a fair election under the leadership of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
"Bangladesh is at the threshold of a critical transformation. At this point, everything else must be set aside, and priority must be given to the election," he said.
Also speaking at the event, Jamaat leader Shafiqul Islam Masud said, "For a fair election, the processes of justice and reform must be implemented. Illegal arms must be seized, and black money must be confiscated. The students and the people have sacrificed their lives in the fight against fascist rule in the country, and they are ready to risk their lives again to protect their voting rights."
He added, "We will not allow anyone to play games with the election. The people of the country are now deeply concerned about the environment for a fair vote. This concern has grown due to the increase in extortion and terrorism."
