Dhaka city election wasn’t fair: Ishraque

BNP mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Ishraque Hossain claimed that the city election was not held in a fair manner.

"Rival party's agents have barred people from voting. Later, those agents gave fake votes for their party by pressing the Electronic Voting Machine's (EVM) button," he explained.

Ishraque Hossain further claimed that polling agents of BNP nominated candidates were driven away from 60 percent of polling centres.

The BNP mayor candidate, however, submitted a written complaint to the Election Commission over the irregularities in voting at 700 polling centres.

In the letter, Ishraque Hossain also urged the returning officer to stop voting in those centres in DSCC.

There are 1,150 polling centres in the Dhaka South city corporation.
