Cucsu polls: Shibir announces Sampritir Shikkharthi Jote panel led by Roni, Sayed
'If elected, we will work with students from every level,' says Mohammad Ali, president of Shibir’s CU chapter

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir today (18 September) announced its full panel under the banner Shampritir Shikkharthi Jote for the upcoming Chittagong University Central Students' Union (Cucsu) election scheduled to be held next month.
Ibrahim Hossain Roni, a history student from the 2017-18 batch, will run for vice-president (VP), while Sayed Bin Habib (History, 2019-20) and Sajjad Hossain Munna (Finance, 2019-20) are the candidates for general secretary (GS) and assistant general secretary posts.
Shibir Human Resources Secretary Saidul Islam announced the full panel at around 2:30pm on the university campus.
Mohammad Ali, president of Shibir's CU chapter, said, "We have tried to ensure representation from all departments. If elected, we will work with students from every level."
Other panel candidates include Mohammad Shawon for sports and games secretary; Shahporan Maruf for assistant sports and games secretary; Harezul Islam for literature, culture and publication secretary; Jihad Hossain for assistant literature, culture and publication secretary; Abdullah Al Noman for office secretary; Jannatul Adnan Nusrat for assistant office secretary; Tahsina Rahman for social welfare and environment secretary; Tanvir Anzum Shovon for research and innovation secretary; and Mahbubur Rahman for science and IT secretary.
Also in the panel are Nahima Akter Dipa for female student welfare secretary; Jannatul Ferdous Rita for assistant female student welfare secretary; Afnan Hossain Imran for health secretary; Monayem Sharif for liberation war and democratic movement secretary; Mehedi Hasan Sohan for career development and international affairs secretary; Ishak Bhuiyan for communication and housing secretary; Obaidul Salman for assistant communication and housing secretary; Tawhid Rabbi for law and human rights secretary; Masum Billah for library and cafeteria secretary; and Jannatul Ferdous Sanjida, Salman Farsi, Akash Dash, Sohanur Rahman and Adnan Sharif for executive members.
Voting for the Cucsu election is scheduled from 9am to 4pm on 12 October.
The preliminary list of candidates will be published on 21 September.
The deadline to withdraw candidacy is 3:30pm on 23 September, and the final list of candidates will be released on 25 September.
