Chhatra Dal-Shibir clash leaves 25 injured in Barishal
Six of the seriously injured were referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal

At least 25 people were injured in a clash between activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir over control of Muladi Government College in Muladi upazila, Barishal this morning (11 September).
Mahiuddin Dhali, convener of Muladi Upazila Chhatra Dal, said that since the Dhaka University Central Students' Union elections, local Shibir leaders have been attempting to take over the college.
He added, "After Shibir activists made derogatory remarks about Tarique Rahman, our college unit president protested. They then tried to remove him from the campus. When we arrived, Shibir activists attacked us. Seven to eight of our leaders are currently hospitalised."
Dhali also claimed that the current Shibir leaders were formerly members of the banned Chhatra League.
Syed Ahmed, president of Barishal district unit Shibir, said they had arranged a career guidance programme for first-year honours students.
"When district and upazila Shibir leaders went to Muladi College to discuss the programme, Chatra Dal leaders suddenly attacked them, injuring 15 to 20 activists," he said.
Six of the seriously injured were referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal.
Muladi police officer-in-charge Md Safikul Islam said that a verbal argument and scuffle occurred between the two groups of students, which was initially resolved by teachers. Police quickly arrived on the scene and brought the situation under control.
