Chhatra Dal central committee sues its expelled leader for tarnishing party's reputation
A case has been filed against Obaidul Islam Saikat, convener of Kalabagan Thana unit Chhatra Dal, who was expelled on specific charges including extortion.
The case was filed at Kalabagan Police Station by Shyamal Malum, senior joint general secretary of Chhtra Dal, on Thursday (5 September), according to a press release signed by Md Jahangir Alam, office secretary of the party.
Earlier on 2 September, Obaidul Islam Saikat, along with 15-20 people, attacked the business establishment named 'Chandpur Store' next to Panthpath signal and looted Tk60,000 in cash and physically assaulted the owner of the establishment.
