According to the document, a significant portion of the wealth held by Helal, who also serves as a barrister and the BNP Chattogram Divisional joint organising secretary, consists of liquid cash, bank deposits, and extensive real estate holdings in Dhaka and Chattogram.
The candidate's movable assets are valued at Tk10.52 crore, including Tk5.67 crore in liquid cash along with an additional Tk20 lakh of his spouse. His financial portfolio also includes Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs) worth Tk2.40 crore and approximately Tk2.92 lakh across various bank accounts.

The affidavit highlights a substantial increase in the value of these properties over time; while the current valuation exceeds Tk20 crore, the candidate noted that the acquisition cost of the apartments was Tk3.11 crore, while the land was originally purchased for just Tk1.65 lakh.
The barrister's annual income is recorded at approximately Tk40.56 lakh, primarily driven by shares, bonds, and bank interest, which account for Tk23.41 lakh.
Other revenue streams include Tk9.15 lakh from house and apartment rentals, Tk7.60 lakh from his legal practice, and Tk40,000 from agricultural sources.
In his most recent tax return for the 2025-26 fiscal year, Helal showed an income of Tk40.56 lakh and paid Tk8.48 lakh in income tax, reflecting a declared wealth of Tk11.65 crore in that specific return.
In terms of his legal background, Mir Helal disclosed information on five cases filed against him. He has already been acquitted in four of these proceedings, while the fifth remains stayed following an order from the High Court.
Mir Helal, the son of veteran BNP leader Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, the BNP chairperson's adviser and former Chattogram mayor, is contesting the upcoming general election scheduled for 12 February. While Mir Nasir has been inactive in politics due to illness, his son is considered an influential BNP figure in the region.
