BNP's SM Jilani to contest Gopalganj-3 seat formerly held by Hasina

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced its nominees for key constituencies in Gopalganj ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary election today (3 November).
SM Jilani, central president of the Jubo Swechchhasebak Dal, has been nominated for Gopalganj-3, a constituency traditionally contested by ousted Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina.
Gopalganj-3 comprises the Tungipara and Kotalipara upazilas.
In Gopalganj-1 (Muksudpur), Md Selimuzzaman Mollah will represent the BNP. The seat was previously contested by former Awami League minister Faruk Khan.
Meanwhile, KM Babar Ali has been nominated for Gopalganj-2 (Sadar), historically represented by former Awami League leader and minister Sheikh Selim.
