BNP nominates Fazlur Rahman for Kishoreganj-4

BNP leader Md Fazlur Rahman has been nominated in the party's primary list to contest the upcoming national election from the Kishoreganj-4 constituency.
On 26 August, the BNP had suspended all party posts held by Fazlur, an adviser to the party's chairperson, for three months as his response to a show-cause notice concerning his recent remarks on last year's July Uprising was deemed unsatisfactory.
Fazlur, who joined the BNP in 2007, previously served as the president of the Kishoreganj district unit of the party for nearly eight years.
He contested twice from Kishoreganj-4 during what he termed as the repressive rule of the then Awami League government. During that time, he reportedly faced political harassment and legal cases, including a sedition charge, which eventually forced him to remain abroad for an extended period.
