BNP expels 27 leaders, activists for defying party discipline
According to the statement, the accused have been expelled from the party's primary membership as well as from all posts at every level.
The BNP has expelled 27 leaders and activists from Mymensingh and Narayanganj for defying party decisions and engaging in activities deemed anti-organisational.
The decision was announced in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today (29 January).
According to the statement, the accused have been expelled from the party's primary membership as well as from all posts at every level.
Those expelled from Bhaluka upazila BNP under Mymensingh South district are joint conveners Md Salah Uddin, Md Shahidul Islam Shahid and Sarwar Jahan Imran; members Mostafizur Rahman Mamun, Mofijul Islam, Abu Sayeed Joyel and Naimul Karim Jannat.
In Narayanganj, those expelled include Siddhirganj thana BNP president Majedul Islam, vice-president GM Sadril, acting general secretary Md Abul Hossain, joint secretary Kamruzzaman Sharif, organising secretary Ali Akbar and member Shamim Ahmed Dhali.
Also expelled are Munshi Ali Ayub, general secretary of BNP's Ward No 4; Masud Karim, general secretary of Ward No 3, and its organising secretary Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan; Mohammad Ali, president of Ward No 2; Masuduzzaman Montu, president of Ward No 9; Md Zillur Rahman, general secretary of Ward No 5; Md Jamal Pradhan, general secretary of Ward No 10; and Jaman Mirza, general secretary of Ward No 7.
The press release further said that Sonargaon upazila BNP vice-president Bazlur Rahman, joint secretaries Saddam Hossain and Ziaul Islam Chayan, member Khandaker Abu Jafar, Sonargaon municipality BNP vice-president Panir Hossain, and former acting general secretary Humayun Kabir Rafiq were also expelled on the same charges.
