Awami League eyes huge gathering in PM's Ctg rally on 4 Dec
Party leaders and activists are carrying out various programmes from Thursday

The ruling Awami League is going to hold a grand rally in Chattogram city on 4 December ahead of the upcoming national elections.
The party leaders want to set a record participation at this gathering of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Polo Ground of the port city.
PM Hasina, also president of the Awami League, is scheduled to join a party meeting in Chattogram after four and a half years.
Chattogram city unit and Chattogram North and South District units Awami League are jointly organising the mass rally. For this purpose, the construction of a large size boat-shaped stage is underway at the venue from Thursday.
Earlier, BNP started its divisional rallies across the country, by holding a mass rally in the port city's polo ground on 12 October.
Awami League leaders and activists have been carrying out various programmes since Thursday to make the upcoming grand rally a success. The programmes include announcements through loudspeakers, leaflet distribution and truck processions across the city.
In the joint meeting held on 9 November to make the upcoming rally a success, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub ul Alam Hanif said, "The grand rally at the polo ground will hopefully turn into a sea of crowd as every leader and activist from all the upazila-unions of the district, all units of 41 wards of the city will be present."
Abu Saeed Al Mahmud, acting organising secretary of Chattogram division, said, "We want to set a record of all past mass rallies in Chattogram on 4 December. We will turn this mass rally into a sea of people."
Chattogram South District Awami League General Secretary Mofizur Rahman said, "We hope that the Awami League President will give political instructions to the leaders and activists ahead of the national election.
Mohammad Russell, senior executive of Chittagong Eventz, said, "We are making a huge stage in the shape of a boat for Awami League's rally. It will be 88 feet long and 40 feet width. Besides, a 160 metre long boat will be in front of the main stage."
Earlier, AL President Sheikh Hasina attended a mass rally on 21 March, 2018 at Patiya Adarsha High School ground in Patiya upazila of the district. Prior to that, in 2016, she joined a mass rally in the port city.
