Various political organisations affiliated with the ousted Awami League have been engaged in deceptive attempts to seize positions in the BNP and its affiliated organisations, BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged today (9 January).

In a press statement, the BNP leader said, "No leader or activist of any other political party or non-political individuals are allowed to join any committees of the BNP, from the ward to the national level, as well as from the ward level to the central committee of its affiliated organisations.

"However, it is a deep concern that various political organisations affiliated with the fallen Awami League government are attempting to infiltrate the BNP and its affiliated organisations by stealthily occupying positions."

Rizvi added that all levels of party leaders must be vigilant and cautious about this issue.

He also alleged that various unknown organisations have been using the names of the party's founding chairman Ziaur Rahman, Chairperson Khaleda Zia, and acting chairperson Tarique Rahman, to carry out deceptive activities.

"We once again urge all leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliated organisations to be vigilant about these fake organisations," he said.
