Police-people to build ideal society by working together: DMP

 Additional Police Commissioner (Detective Branch) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Rezaul Karim Mallick today said police and people could build an ideal society by working together.

"If the police and the people work together, we will be able to build a beautiful society," he said.

He came up with the opinion at a view-exchange meeting, organized by the Citizen Forum, at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) building in the Shahbagh Thana area.

"We want to provide best services with the cooperation of the people alongside maintaining the stability of the country," he said.

"We have got a new Bangladesh through the July Revolution. We have to keep this revolution in our hearts and move forward in unison," he said, mentioning that DMP has been relentlessly working to become police of the countrymen.
Mentioning that DB will be the name of the people's trust, he said, "The DB is working to serve the people."

"People should cooperate with us by providing information about drug, extortion and encroachment. We will take necessary legal action against them," he said.

Sounding a note of warning against any wrongdoings to be committed by the DB personnel, "The DMP additional commissioner said, "Strict action will be taken against them. No one is above the law . . . if I commit a crime, I will also be tried."

Officials of various ranks of DMP's Ramna Division, leaders of various political, social, professional, religious organizations, heads of educational institutions and leaders of student movements were present at the meeting.
