Police file charge sheets in 15 uprising-related cases
Police have been submitted charge sheets in 15 cases filed over incidents that occurred during the 2024 July mass uprising.
Among these, five are murder cases and ten are under various other charges, the Bangladesh Police said in a statement today (28 July).
Of the five murder cases, three were filed in Sherpur, one in Kurigram, and one under the jurisdiction of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

The ten other cases include one each under Dhaka and Barishal Metropolitan Police, three in Chapainawabganj, two in Sirajganj, one in Pabna, and two cases under investigation by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).
"Senior police officials are overseeing the investigations to ensure proper handling of the cases. The Bangladesh Police remains committed to completing investigations in the remaining cases and bringing the perpetrators to justice," reads the statement.
