Police constable found dead in Cox’s Bazar hotel room
The deceased was identified as Ataul Karim, 50, a constable at the Hoikyang Highway Police Outpost in Teknaf.
Police recovered the body of a police constable from a room at a hotel near the bus terminal in Cox's Bazar town yesterday (14 August).
The deceased was identified as Ataul Karim, 50, a constable at the Hoikyang Highway Police Outpost in Teknaf.
His body was recovered from room No. 401 of Dhaka Hotel after hotel staff received no response from him, said Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohammad Ali.
Sheikh Mohammad Ali said Ataul checked into the hotel at around 11am on Thursday.
"The body was sent to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy," he added.
The OC said an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death. Details will be known after the autopsy report and the investigation.
