Pabna-bound train derails after being hit by parked coaches in Rajshahi station, several injured
Train services between Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj were suspended following the collision

Several injured as two parked coaches rolled away from Rajshahi railway station, colliding with the Pabna-bound Dhalarchar Express this evening (21 October).
Two coaches of Dhalarchar Express along with the runaway coach derailed after the collision.
Rajshahi Railway loco in‑charge Sajedur Rahman said two reserved coaches had been kept on line 5, normally attached to trains as extra carriages.
"When the Dhalarchar Express departed from line 6, vibrations caused the stones blocking the wheels of the parked coaches to dislodge. The coaches rolled forward and collided with the rear of the Dhalarchar Express, derailing two of its coaches and one of the parked ones," he added.
He added that the damaged coaches of the Dhalarchar Express were detached, passengers were shifted to other carriages, and the train was allowed to resume the journey.
Train services between Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj were suspended following the collision. The Chapainawabganj‑bound Bonolota Express from Dhaka was forced to halt for 15–20 minutes at Horiyan Station near Rajshahi before being brought back to Rajshahi Railway Station.
By 8pm, station announcements warned that both the Bonolota Express to Chapainawabganj and the Ishwardi‑bound Commuter Express from Chapainawabganj would face significant delays due to the derailment.
Eyewitness Rafiqul Islam said two coaches of the Dhalarchar Express derailed and their outer sections were badly damaged. "The impact was so strong that many passengers in the rear coaches were injured. A child fell from a seat and cut his hand," he said.
By 7:30pm, one of the derailed coaches was recovered.
A relief train was dispatched from Ishwardi to recover the remaining derailed coaches.
