Owners declare to operate buses during Hefazat hartal

The leaders of Dhaka Road Transport Owners' Samity have declared to operate buses and minibuses in Dhaka and adjacent areas on Sunday ignoring the nationwide day-long hartal, called by Hefazat-e-Islam protesting police action on its activists.
"Vehicular movement will be normal across the country, including Dhaka. All inter-district buses will depart from Dhaka on time," said Khandker Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the association.
The decision was taken in consultation with all bus owners, he said, adding, "We do not intend to incur losses keeping the vehicles in the depots."
Hefazat called the nationwide hartal for Sunday, in protest of Friday's police action on its activists in Dhaka and Chattogram.
Activists of the Islamist group clashed with police in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Brahmanbaria, protesting the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh.
At least five people were killed during the clashes.
