Osman Hadi killing: Court asks plaintiff to appear on 12 Jan over charge sheet
A Dhaka court has summoned the plaintiff in the Osman bin Hadi murder case to appear on 12 January to raise any objections to a charge sheet filed against 17 accused by the DB Police.
Abdullah Al Jaber, the member secretary of Inqilab Mancha and plaintiff in the Osman bin Hadi murder case, has been summoned to appear in court on 12 January to state whether he has any objections to the charge sheet submitted by the DB Police.
Rokonuzzaman, deputy superintendent of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's prosecution division, confirmed the matter today (10 January).
He said the investigation officer of the case, DB Police Inspector Faisal Ahmed, filed a charge sheet on 6 January against 17 people, including prime accused Faisal Karim Masud.
On 7 January, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka, Jashita Islam, signed the charge sheet after reviewing it.
"The court has now issued a notice for the plaintiff to appear on 12 January to state whether they have any objections to the charge sheet submitted by the DB Police," Rokonuzzaman said.
Of the 17 accused named in the charge sheet, 11 are currently in prison including Faisal Karim Masud's father Md Humayun Kabir, mother Hasi Begum, wife Saheda Parvin Samia, friend Maria Akter Lima, brother-in-law Wahid Ahmed Sipu, rent-a-car businessman Mufti Md. Nuruzzaman Nomani alias Ujjal, Faisal's close associate Md Kabir, Sibyon Diu, Sanjay Chisim, Md. Aminul Islam alias Raju, and Md Faisal, who was arrested in Narsingdi with weapons.
The main accused Faisal Karim Masud and six others are currently on the run. Others include Faisal's associate Alamgir Hossain, Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo League organizational secretary and former ward councillor Taizul Islam Chowdhury Bappy, Philip Snal Philips, Mukti Akter, and Faisal's sister Jesmin Akter.
