One-stop centres planned nationwide to reform land services: Minister
Efforts are underway to establish one-stop service centres next to deputy commissioners’ offices across the country, says Land Minister Md Mizanur Rahman Minu.
The government is planning to set up one-stop service centres nationwide in a bid to modernise land administration, reduce public harassment and curb corruption, Land Minister Md Mizanur Rahman Minu has said.
"We are all trying together to keep pace with the modern world by introducing services through a one-stop service system, so that harassment of landowners can be reduced," he said today (27 February) while exchanging greetings with party leaders, activists and well-wishers at a community centre in Rajshahi city.
Mizanur said the BNP government is working as a team to modernise the land administration system in a way that reduces public suffering.
The minister added that the land ministry is highly complex and that public understanding of its operations remains limited.
To curb corruption and ensure transparent service delivery, efforts are underway to establish one-stop service centres next to deputy commissioners' offices across the country, he stated.
Regarding reports of leaders and activists of the banned Awami League being shown arrested in other cases after securing bail from courts concerned, allegedly under "special instructions" from Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, the minister said the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the home ministry.
"This is a decision of the home ministry. The administration operates under the ministry. I will look into it. In fact, the country belongs to all of us. It is our collective responsibility to safeguard the country's independence and sovereignty," he said.
