Under trial ex-industries minister Humayun dies while in jail custody
According to prison authorities, Humayun had been admitted to the hospital for advanced treatment after suffering from uncontrolled bowel and bladder disease.

Former industries minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, who was in jail custody, passed away today (29 September) at the age of 78 while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
According to prison authorities, Humayun had been admitted to the hospital for advanced treatment after suffering from uncontrolled bowel and bladder disease.
As his condition worsened, he was transferred to the ICU on the 5th floor of the hospital's old building around 4pm yesterday (28 September). Despite receiving intensive care, he breathed his last at approximately 8:10am today.
Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, an Awami League leader, had served as minister of industries during the previous government.
A former member of parliament from the Narsingdi-4 constituency, Humayun was arrested at his Gulshan residence on 24 September last year.
He had multiple cases against him including the murder case of a labour leader named Jahangir Hossain in an attack and clash during the protest of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement programme in Madhabdi on 4 August last year.
