CA mourns death of 'close friend' Hafizuddin Khan
In 2001, Hafizuddin Khan served the caretaker government as an adviser for different ministries
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus today (22 January) expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former caretaker government adviser and prominent civil society figure M Hafizuddin Khan.
In a condolence message, the chief adviser, with due respect, recalled the late Hafizuddin Khan's long and dedicated career and his significant contributions to the welfare of the state and the people.
"M Hafizuddin Khan was an honest, wise, and responsible public servant. His dedication to public service and his ethical stance will remain an exemplary model for us," CA Yunus said.
He added, "In personal life as well, he was my classmate and a close friend. At different times in life, his wisdom, humanity, and clarity of expression enriched me. With his death, I have lost a trusted colleague and friend."
The chief adviser said that the honesty, sincerity, and efficiency Hafizuddin Khan demonstrated throughout his career, and the role he later played in establishing good governance in the state, will be remembered by the nation with respect.
Muhammad Yunus prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Hafizuddin Khan passed away yesterday evening (21 January) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.
He served as secretary to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
