Now DMP imposes ban on rallies, processions in key Dhaka areas from tomorrow

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on all types of public gatherings, rallies, processions, demonstrations, and similar activities in several key areas of the capital starting tomorrow (18 May), until further notice.

According to a DMP press statement issued today (17 May), the ban has been enforced under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance, in the interest of maintaining public order and ensuring safe public movement.

The restricted areas include Kachukhet Road, the stretch from Bijoy Sarani to the Chief Adviser's Office, areas adjacent to Birsreshto Shaheed Jahangir Gate, areas around BAF Shaheen College up to the Mohakhali Flyover, Sainik Club intersection, Bhashantek, Matikata, ECB Chattar and all adjacent zones.
