Although the coronavirus situation has not improved in the country, Chittagong University (CU) authorities have decided to take admission tests in person as before.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Deans Committee on Sunday afternoon regarding the admission test for 2020-21 session.

Dean of the Science Faculty of the University Mohammad Nasim Hasan confirmed the matter, Somoy TV reports.

The total marks for the admission tests have been reduced from 120 to 100. Of the total marks, 80 were reserved for multiple choice questions (MCQ) and 20 marks were allocated for SSC and HSC results.

In this regard, Dean Nasim Hasan said, "Even if the prevalence of coronavirus does not decrease, admission test will be held. Students will have to come in person and participate in the test."

"This time, there will be an examination in 100 MCQs. However, a decision will be taken in the meeting of the admission test committee on how the remaining 20 marks will be added, when examination will be held and where it will be held," he added.

Earlier, the Deans Committee of Dhaka University decided to hold the university entrance tests this year in eight divisional centres across the country to ensure participation of all admission aspirants.
