No prohibition in Islam on installation of sculptures: Haqqani Alem Samaj
Religious speakers at a conference also said sculptures often enhance consciousness and take the country forward
Leaders of Haqqani Alem Samaj, an Islamic community said there is no prohibition in Islam on the installation of sculptures.
They said, "Sculptures and idols are completely different things, but Hefazat-e-Islam leaders are spreading confusing messages in this regard,"
The Islamic scholars made these remarks at a press conference in front of the National Press Club on Sunday noon, reports Somoy TV.

Several religious speakers participated in the press conference and said it is the moral duty of the state to install the sculpture of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to remind the people about his contribution to the country.
They also said sculptures often enhance consciousness and take the country forward. There was a time when we could scarcely imagine the Padma Bridge, but now it is real. "We do not worship idols. Idols are worshipped, not sculptures." the scholars added.
