No parole application yet for Dipu Moni after husband's death
Tawfique Nawaz died last night (18 August) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Former education minister and former lawmaker Dr Dipu Moni's husband, Barrister Tawfique Nawaz, has died, but Munshiganj District Jail authorities said they have not yet received any application seeking her release on parole.

Dipu Moni is currently in custody at Munshiganj District Jail following her arrest. Although there has been discussion about whether an application for her parole release has been made following her husband's death, the jail authorities said they have no information about it.
According to the jail authorities, if an application for parole is received, further proceedings will be taken in accordance with the rules.
Dipu Moni's lawyer Gazi Faisal Islam said her daughter, Tani Dipaboli, entered the jail at 12pm to meet her mother. He said they would then apply for Dipu Moni's parole release.
Munshiganj District Jail Superintendent Md Jannat-ul Farhad said they were still unaware of any application for parole and that no one had come to the jail with an application on Dipu Moni's behalf.
