Newborn dies as wall collapses during earthquake in Narayanganj, 2 injured

A newborn died after a wall collapsed in the Rupganj area of Narayanganj this morning (21 November) during an earthquake.
The incident occurred during a powerful 5.7-magnitude earthquake that jolted Bangladesh around 10.45am.
The deceased child was identified as Fatema. At the same time, her mother, Kulsuma Begum, and a neighbour, Jesmin, were injured, confirmed Mokhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge at Bhulta Police Outpost.
Fatema was the daughter of Abdul Haque and lived in Islambagh 5 Number Canal area of Golakandail Union.
Locals said they were passing through the area of Bhulta Gausia when the earthquake struck. The wall beside the road collapsed, trapping Fatema, her mother, and the neighbour underneath.
Fatema died at the scene. Later, her body and the injured were rescued from under the wall and admitted to a private hospital.
