New govt must take priority measures for rapid economic recovery: Taskeen Ahmed
"Global geopolitical uncertainties, including US tariffs, along with domestic challenges, have hindered economic activity."
We believe the recent election has empowered the people to choose representatives who can guide Bangladesh towards a developed, prosperous, and democratic future. We urge the new government to implement priority-based measures for rapid economic recovery.
Elected representatives play a crucial role in addressing pressing challenges and removing constraints in the industrial and commercial sectors. Recent law and order issues, disruptions in port operations, NBR reforms, energy supply uncertainties, high interest rates, slow loan processes, and weak policy support have discouraged local and foreign investment.
Global geopolitical uncertainties, including US tariffs, along with domestic challenges, have hindered economic activity. FDI inflows remain limited, export sectors show little progress, and SMEs – the backbone of employment – have been hit hardest, causing operational and workforce disruptions for entrepreneurs.
