Nepal embassy, BNFS organise painting competition for school students in Rajshahi
Inaugurating the event, Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari commended the students for their participation. He said the objective of the competition was to help young students enhance their understanding of Nepal and promote friendship between the two countries.
The Embassy of Nepal, in collaboration with the Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Society, organised a painting competition among school-level students at Bangladesh Shishu Academy in Rajshahi yesterday morning (19 December).
Held under the theme "Nepal As I See It", the competition aimed to provide young Bangladeshi students with a platform to creatively express their ideas of Nepal through artwork, said a press release.
Inaugurating the event, Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari commended the students for their participation. He said the objective of the competition was to help young students enhance their understanding of Nepal and promote friendship between the two countries.
The ambassador also highlighted the historic and deep-rooted ties between Nepal and Bangladesh and expressed hope that the students' artistic reflections would strengthen cultural and people-to-people connections.
Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Society President Moshiur Ahmed welcomed the participants and said the competition celebrated the enduring bonds of friendship between the two countries.
Students from 40 schools in Rajshahi took part in the competition. Participants were divided into two age groups, 6 to 10 years and 11 to 16 years, the press release added.
Four winners and 10 best artworks from each category were selected by an eminent panel of judges.
A separate prize distribution ceremony was held in the afternoon, where Ambassador Bhandari and other dignitaries felicitated the 10 winners from each category.
