Navy chief visits Ctg port's NCT, emphasises efficiency and discipline

Chief of the Bangladesh Navy Admiral M Nazmul Hasan visited the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) of Chattogram Port today (9 July) to observe its operations firsthand.
During the inspection, the Navy chief reviewed container handling activities at the NCT-2 Jetty, container examination at the appraisal point, and the terminal's operational system at the CTMS building.
He provided important directives to the officers and personnel of Chittagong Dry Dock Limited (CDDL) — which recently took charge of operating the NCT — as well as to others involved in port operations, to ensure smooth and efficient management of the terminal.
The inspection was attended by the commander of the Chattogram Naval Region, the chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority, the managing director of CDDL, and other senior military and civilian officials.
The Chattogram Port Authority officially handed over the operational responsibility of the NCT to Chittagong Dry Dock Limited on 7 July.
Admiral Nazmul Hasan expressed optimism that CDDL's management of the terminal would bring greater discipline, timeliness, and efficiency to port operations. He stated that effective management and faster cargo movement would enhance the country's import-export process, which in turn would positively impact the national economy.
He further noted that improved port performance would boost foreign investor confidence and play a significant role in accelerating economic growth.
