The national flag remained hoisted until the early hours of Tuesday on Khulna tax zone headquarters premises even though it was supposed to be lowered after the office hours on Monday.

Khulna tax zone sources said Salam is responsible for raising and lowering the national flag daily but it was not lowered when the office closed on Monday.

Joint Tax Commissioner Md Manzoor Alam noticed the flag while passing by and informed the authorities.
Khulna Tax Commissioner Prashanto Kumar Roy said he immediately suspended Salam after hearing the matter.
