National Consensus Commission’s tenure extended by one month
Led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, the seven-member commission was formed on 12 February this year. It was initially given six months to submit its report, with the deadline set to expire on 15 August

The government has extended the tenure of the National Consensus Commission by one month, until 15 September.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division last night (11 August).
Led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, the seven-member commission was formed on 12 February this year. It was initially given six months to submit its report, with the deadline set to expire on 15 August.
The commission was tasked with reviewing and adopting the recommendations of six reform commissions. In line with this mandate, it has been holding dialogues with political parties to reach consensus on proposed reforms.
