National Committee on Monitoring and Review of Land Services Digitisation formed

The Ministry of Land has formed the National Committee on Monitoring and Review of Land Services Digitisation to plan and coordinate the digital land management programme across the country.

The land ministry formed the committee on 17 December, read a press release from the ministry on Sunday.

The other major tasks of the committee include: determining strategies and an action plan for implementing land services digitisation, providing support regarding policy for digital service implementation, speeding up the digitisation programme, developing the quality of digital services and making them people-oriented.

The committee will work to ensure the accountability and transparency of field level work, with regular monitoring, and to ensure correct land services by increasing their efficiency through identifying weaknesses.

The land minister is the president of the committee, and its members include: the land secretary, the chairman of the Land Appeal Board, the chairman of Land Reform Board, the director general of Land Record and Survey Department, the Dhaka divisional commissioner, the project director of a2i, the deputy commissioners of Dhaka and Khulna, all the directors of ongoing projects under the land ministry and zonal settlement officers of Dhaka plus Dinajpur, additional deputy commissioners (revenue) of Sylhet and Barishal, the additional deputy commissioner (LA) of Paba upazila in Rajshahi, and the additional commissioner (land) of Sadar upazila of Mymensingh.
