Naripokkho demands legal action against SP Milu Miyan
Naripokkho, a women's rights organisation, has condemned Superintendent of Police (SP) Milu Miyan of Rangpur for the objectionable remarks he made recently regarding the marriage of a female physician and a barber.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the organisation also demanded legal action against the SP and his associates.
According to media reports, Milu Miyan, Crime Investigation Department (CID) SP of Rangpur, appeared at a press conference on 23 December, along with the couple and their only child.

He claimed that the physician had committed a crime by marrying a 'lower-class' man, which is why a CID team had rescued her.
But the couple said they are happily married.
Naripokkho described the incident as a case of harassment, as an adult citizen can marry anyone he/she chooses.
