Munni Saha rescued, not arrested, by police after mob surrounds her in Karwan Bazar: DB

Speaking to The Business Standard at 11:04pm about media reports about she being arrested, DMP’s Detective Branch Chief Rezaul Karim Mallick said, “She has not been arrested. She has been rescued and taken to the DB office.”

Journalist and television host Munni Saha was rescued by the police after she was surrounded by a group of people in the capital's Karwan Bazar tonight (30 November).

"Senior journalist Munni Saha is now under police custody," Zuel Rana, inspector (investigation) of Tejgaon Police Station, told The Business Standard.

"A group of individuals had blocked her way in the Karwan Bazar area. After being informed, police quickly arrived on the spot and rescued her," he added.

Speaking to The Business Standard at 11:04pm about media reports about she being arrested, DMP's Detective Branch Chief Rezaul Karim Mallick said, "She has not been arrested. She has been rescued and taken to the DB office."

However, details of the incident could not be confirmed immediately.
