Mother of July Uprising victim accuses OC, 7 others of filing ‘fraudulent’ second case over son’s killing
The complaint states that Sagar was shot dead on 19 July last year during the July Uprising

The family of Md Sagar, who was killed during the July Uprising, is now alleging fraud after a second police case was filed regarding his death.
Sagar's mother, Beauty Akter, has filed a petition in a Dhaka court, seeking to bring charges against those involved in the second case, including the plaintiff, lawyers, witnesses, and two police officers.
The accused are: Khandakar Nur Amin Siddique, plaintiff of Shah Ali Police Station case No 9(3)25; three lawyers, Advocates Nasim Uddin, Md Bayezid, Ahsan Habib, and Ashraful Islam; witnesses Abbas Ali and Taher Maltia; and Shah Ali, Police Inspector (Investigation), Md Motiur Rahman, and Officer-in-Charge Md Shafiqul Islam.
According to the petition, Md Sagar was fatally shot on 19 July during the uprising. His mother, Beauty Akter, initially filed a case (No. 54 (11) 24) at the Mirpur Police Station, which led to several arrests.
However, a second case (No. 9(3)25) was later filed at the Shah Ali Police Station by a man named Khandakar Nur Amin Siddique, who claimed to be Sagar's brother-in-law. The petition alleges that this second case was filed with the intent to undermine the first one.
The complaint states that those involved in the second case acquired a copy of Sagar's death certificate and falsely claimed the incident took place in the Shah Ali Police Station area.
The petition further alleges that these individuals, with the help of police officers Md Motiur Rahman and Md Shafiqul Islam, later took money from people named in the second case. In exchange for cash, they allegedly promised to have those names removed from the charge sheet.
