Mokhles Ur Rahman removed as senior public administration secretary

The government has removed Md Mokhles Ur Rahman from his post as senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.
A gazette issued by the ministry today (21 September) states that he has been transferred to the Planning Commission as a member, a secretary-level position.
In this role, he will continue to hold the rank of senior secretary as per his contract.
Mokhles Ur Rahman, a 1982 BCS administration cadre official, was brought back from retirement on a two-year contract after the interim government assumed office following the fall of the previous government last year.
On 28 August, Mohammad Mesbah Uddin Chowdhury, then senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, had been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), and Mokhles was appointed in his place.
During Mokhles' tenure, disputes reportedly arose in the public administration over transfers, postings, and promotions.
Allegations of irregularities were also raised regarding the appointment of deputy commissioners.
Meanwhile, Md Ruhul Amin, a member (secretary) of the Planning Commission, has been made an OSD of the Ministry of Public Administration.
