Mob violence claims 16 lives in July; 51 unidentified bodies recovered: MSF
The rights group urged the government to take strong legal action against perpetrators to restore security and uphold the rule of law

Mob violence claimed the lives of 16 people across the country in July, while authorities recovered 51 unidentified bodies from various locations, rights group Manabadhikar Sanskriti Foundation (MSF) said in its monthly report today (31July).
Additionally, nine individuals died due to political violence during the month.
The report analysed incidents from 1 to 31 July based on verified media reports and information from MSF's local monitors.
It recorded at least 51 cases of mob violence or mass beatings, resulting in 16 fatalities and 53 serious injuries. At least 30 victims were handed over to police.
Among the 51 unidentified bodies recovered, eight were children, one teenager, 13 women, and 29 men.
The foundation warned that the rising number of unidentified bodies underscores the urgent need for proper identification efforts.
MSF expressed concern over the rise of mob violence even in the presence of law enforcement.
The rights group urged the government to take strong legal action against perpetrators to restore security and uphold the rule of law.
