Establishments, installations linked to Mujib, Hasina, AL leaders demolished across districts
The vandalism comes following announcements of a "Bulldozer Procession" on social media
A group of agitated people attacked Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's residence at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital at around 8:00pm today (5 February), bringing an excavator later to demolish the building.
Attacks have also taken place in several other districts, including Rajshahi, Kushtia, Sylhet, Chuadanga, Barishal, Bhola, Chattogram and Khulna.
The move came after announcements of a "Bulldozer Procession" on social media. As per the announcements, the procession was scheduled for 9:00pm when Hasina began to address the banned student outfit Chhatra League in a virtual session.

After demolishing the house of Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, former mayor of Barishal City Corporation, at Kali Bari Road, students have now started bulldozing the house of Awami League leader and former minister Amir Hossain Amu on the Oxform Mission Road in Barishal city, reports our correspondent.
Meanwhile, several murals of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have been demolished in Khulna city by members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, reports our Khulna correspondent. The incident took place at around 9:30pm.
In Bhola, former minister Tofail Ahmed's residence have been set on fire.

A crowd is demolishing the Chuadanga District Awami League Office in the city with a bulldozer, our correspondent reports.
Meanwhile, students of Khulna University have demolished the mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the main gate of the university using a bulldozer, reports our Khulna correspondent.

A group of students brought a bulldozer to demolish the house of Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, former mayor of Barishal City Corporation.
However, the army has intervened, our Barishal correspondent reports.
"Discussions are ongoing between the army and the students," he said.

The front of the Mujib residence at Dhanmondi 32 has already been demolished using an excavator as it continues to burn.
Sudha Sadan, the residence of Sheikh Hasina's late husband Dr MA Wazed Miah, has also been set on fire by another group of agitators. This building is located on Road No 5 in Dhanmondi.

Sheikh Mujib's mural in Sylhet bulldozed
The mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman installed in front of the Sylhet Deputy Commissioner's office has been demolished with a bulldozer.
At around 9:30pm, a group of students brought out a procession under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and demolished the mural with a bulldozer, reports our correspondent.
During this, the students were seen shouting slogans like "Mujibabad's hideout, demolish it, demolish it", "Abu Sayed-Mugdha, the war is not over yet"

Nameplates vandalised, replaced at RU
A group of agitating students have vandalised the nameplate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Hall residential halls at the Rajshahi University campus.
Around 9:15pm today (5 February), some students gathered at Joha Chattar on the campus following an earlier directive.
Later, the students moved towards the residential hall, vandalised the nameplate in front of it and renamed it Bijoy24 Hall
Meanwhile, the students have renamed the under-construction Shaheed AHM Qamaruzzaman Hall to Shaheed Ali Raihan Hall.
When asked about their next move, students said they have a plan to move towards the under-construction Sheikh Hasina Hall and demolish its nameplate.
Later, at around 10:30pm, students removed the nameplate from Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Hall and hung up a banner with the name of Nabab Foyzunnessa Chowdhurani.
The girls from the hall kept shouting slogans from inside the hall booed the students and threw bricks at them. At one point, when two of the students from the hall went up to the gate, the protesting students started throwing bricks at them, leading to a tense atmosphere. Later, when the protesting students moved away, the girls went up to the gate, took down the banner with the nameplate and set it on fire.

Demolishment spreads across country
As of now, the demolishment has spread to at least four districts- Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi and Kushtia.
In Dhaka, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's residence came under attack at 8:00pm. The building and adjacent establishments has been vandalised and set on fire. A massive crowd is still at the spot.
In Khulna, the 'Sheikh Bari', a two-story building on Sher-e-Bangla Road in Khulna City, which is the home of five cousins of Sheikh Hasina, was being demolished by bulldozers.
Around 9:00pm, a group of students gathered and started vandalising the house, our Khulna correspondent reports.
In Kushtia, the residence of former lawmaker Mahbubul Alam Hanif was being demolished, reports our correspondent.

A portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Chattogram Medical College Hospital was vandalised at around 10:00pm, reports Prothom Alo.

Speaking to TBS, Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi said, "I heard that the bulldozer has been stopped at Kalabagan by the army. We are going there."
However, visiting the Kalabagan area, our correspondent found no truth to his claim

A youth fainted in front of the mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman outside the building near the Dhanmondi lake, our correspondent reports. Vandalism is still going on with many breaking down the walls of the building and adjacent establishments.

A few security force members can be seen on the spot. They are trying to persuade the crowd to leave the spot. However, the crowd is paying no heed to their calls.
"They marched past the Dhanmondi-32 road and are now going back towards the main road," our correspondent reports from the spot.
Meanwhile, people can be seen coming down from the building.

The road in front of the building is cramped, a sea of people from all walks of life, mostly aged between 20-30 are now occupying the road and the building. Some even entered the residence and museum. Some climbed onto the balcony of the building brandishing sticks and defying the barbed fence.

As the building burns as slogans, including "Azadi, Azadi", "Nara e Takbeer", "Dhaka, Not Delhi", are being chanted.

A police official wishing anonymity told TBS at around 8:00pm that some agitated youths broke into the residence and started vandalising the residence.
"We tried to bar them while they were in a huge number we couldn't stop them. Some even started attacking the policemen," the official told TBS.

A group of agitated people attacked Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's residence at Dhanmondi 32. Some were seen hitting the walls of the establishment with hammers and sticks. They were also seen chanting anti-Awami League and anti-Sheikh Hasina slogans.
