Fire Service and Civil Defence, the Bangladesh Army, and locals are trying to douse the fire.

The devastating fire that burned at least 20 resorts and other establishments in the Sajek valley, one of the most popular tourist spots in the country, has been brought under control.
"The fire came under control at around 4:30pm," Ashik Mahmud Sagar, an owner of Niribili Eco Resort in the valley, confirmed to The Business Standard.
He also claimed that some 30 resorts, seven restaurants, 40 houses and 30 shops were burned in the fire. "In total, the fire has caused an estimated damage worth Tk70-80 crore."
TBS could not confirm the claims immediately.
Meanwhile, citing Fire Service and Civil Defence, the BSS also reported that the fire was brought under control at around 4:30pm.
"The fire broke out suddenly behind the Sajek Montana Resort at around 1:00pm. The flames spread all around in an instant. More than 20 resorts have already burned down. The number of resorts burned down may increase," Indrajit Chakma, finance secretary of the Sajek Resort Cottage Owners Association, said earlier in the afternoon.

Fire Service and Civil Defence, the Bangladesh Army, and locals are trying to douse the fire.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the Fire Service said there is no Fire Service station in Sajek, due to which, it is taking time for the firefighting units to reach the spot.
One firefighting unit from Dighinala reached the spot at around 2:240pm, Fire Service said in a statement earlier on the day.

Besides, 10 more units were on the way to Sajek from various stations across Khagracchari and Rangamati.
