Tala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moin Uddin Islam said, "After the madrasah teacher was killed, villagers beat the attacker, Raju Gazi, to death. Both bodies have been recovered."

According to locals, Raju was disturbing a student at the madrasah around noon when Shariful asked him to stop and return home. In response, Raju allegedly attacked Shariful from behind with a wooden stick, repeatedly striking his head until he died on the spot.

Raju was reportedly mentally unstable and under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.

Soon after, enraged locals from nearby villages gathered and beat Raju to death at the scene.
