A man was beaten to death by a group of men in Kalarmaarchar union of Moheshkhali upazila in Cox's Bazar today (14 April).

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rashid, 50, a resident of Uttar Nolbila village.

According to police, an argument broke out over a goat entering a paddy field, which escalated into a fatal confrontation.

Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot, launched an investigation and detained one of the suspects, Kamrul Hasan.

"Preliminary investigation suggests that Mohammad Rashid was beaten to death. His body has been sent to the hospital for autopsy.

"A manhunt is underway to identify and arrest all those involved in the attack," OC Kaisar said.
