A passenger was detained with 8,400 yaba pills at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today (28 February).

The passenger was detained by Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel at Check-in Row-C while preparing to board US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-337 to the Maldives, according to a press release.

During security screening, AVSEC members scanned the passenger's luggage and discovered the yaba pills.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody.

The detained passenger, along with the seized yaba pills, has been handed over to the airport branch of the Department of Narcotics Control for further legal proceedings.
