LPG association urges sale of cylinders at govt-set price
LPG bottling companies are supplying cylinders at the government-fixed rate.
The LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh (LOAB) has urged distributors and retailers to sell LPG cylinders at government-fixed prices.
Association President Mohammad Amirul Haque said in a press release that a commerce ministry letter dated 7 April noted LPG cylinders were being sold above the government-set price in various parts of the country at the consumer level.
However, he said LPG bottling companies are supplying cylinders at the government-fixed rate.

It further added that the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and deputy commissioners have already been instructed to conduct drives and take strict legal action against such irregularities.
At a time of global energy crisis, it is our moral responsibility to reduce public suffering, it said.
In this context, the association urged all distributors and retailers involved in the LPG business to sell cylinders at the government-fixed price.
