Locals demonstrate blocking 300ft road demanding footover bridges, proper traffic management

Locals formed a human chain blocking the Purbachal's 300 Feet Road demanding the construction of footbridges, zebra crossings, and proper traffic management.
The demonstration was held this morning (2 October) at Mastul area near the Balu Bridge in Purbachal. Thousands of people joined, causing long tailbacks on both sides of the road.
Protestors alleged that although footbridges were planned in the Mastul and Pink City areas during the construction of Purbachal 300 Feet Road, they were never implemented.
The area on both sides of the road is filled with schools, factories, and housing projects. Every day, 4,000-5,000 people cross the road at great risk. However, there are no police boxes, zebra crossings, or footbridges.

Recklessly speeding motorcycles, private cars, and trucks frequently cause accidents, claiming innocent lives.
Locals said since the road opened for traffic, at least 70 people have died between Kuril Bishwa Road and Kanchan Bridge — of them, around 20 in the Mastul area alone.
At the demonstration, locals demanded footbridges be built in Mastul and Pink City, zebra crossings be formed, and police boxes installed within one month.
Later, the police arrived and assured the people that they would discuss the issue with the authorities to seek a solution, after which the crowd cleared the road.
