DB arrests AL leader Shahe Alam Murad from Uttara

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested Md Shahe Alam Murad, an executive member of Awami League's Dhaka Metropolitan unit and the former general secretary of the party's Dhaka South unit.
The DMP media wing sent a brief message to journalists this morning (17 April) confirming his arrest from the capital's Uttara area. But it did not say when he was picked up by the detectives and from where in Uttara.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman also confirmed the arrest to the media.
Murad recently led a protest procession in Dhaka against the interim government. The event was joined by other Awami League leaders and activists.
Murad was accused in multiple cases related to the July uprising of 2024, filed with different police stations under the DMP.
